Are you looking for a group here at St. Francis in your age range to do ministry with? The St. Francis 50+ Adults Group was formed to provide opportunities for social, spiritual, charitable, and educational activities for the benefit of its members, the parish, and the Wake County community. Membership is open to persons 50 years of age or older who attend St. Francis Parish or reside in Wake County and the surrounding areas.Â
The Group has a variety of monthly activities at St. Francis, including:
- A potluck luncheon at St. Francis
- Game day at St. Francis
- Lunch at Milton’s
- Lunch at Chopstix
- Brunch at Creedmoor Café
- Social hour at ZincHouse Winery & Brewery
- Community service activities
Beyond the monthly activities, other events include the Golden Years breakfast at the convention center, theater programs, an NC State Dairy Farm tour, the VA International Tattoo in Norfolk, and access to Raleigh Parks and Recreation Active Adult Program activities.
The service opportunities we participate in include various activities during our potlucks throughout the year, adult hat and gloves drive in support of Oak City Cares as part of the St. Francis Giving Tree program, the children’s pajama drive to support Catholic Parish Outreach, in memory of our deceased members, and numerous other events in support of those in need. Any excess funds raised by our service activities are donated to St. Francis at the end of the year.Â
Our mission is to ‘engage’ with the faith community that supports us, to ‘encounter’ the God who loves us, and to ‘serve’ and transform the world that needs us.
