Cross Step is a vibrant and engaging part of St. Francis of Assisi’s Cross faith formation series, designed specifically for our youngest parishioners. This program welcomes children ages 1 (who are walking) through 5 years old who are not currently enrolled in kindergarten. 

Cross Step provides a warm, nurturing environment where little ones can begin to explore their faith through age-appropriate activities, music, and play, helping them take their first steps in a lifelong journey with Christ.

Registered children attend Cross Step while their parents attend Sunday 9:00 AM Mass. Using Pflaum’s Gospel Weeklies’ “Seeds” curriculum, the children will learn about the Gospel for that week and participate in interactive, age-appropriate hands-on activities to teach them about our Catholic faith and traditions. During each session, the children practice the Sign of the Cross, pray together as a group, and read Lambsongs New and Old Testament picture books, along with completing a faith-based arts-and-craft activity, while socializing with other Cross Step participants in a safe and nurturing environment.

Children attending Cross Step spend a faith-filled hour with trained, responsible childcare workers and volunteers, who are excited to help your children take their first STEPS on their walk with God!
