Ongoing faith formation is a year-round goal! Throughout the summer our parish offers faith-based opportunities for ages Pre-K through rising college freshmen. These programs include our Preschool Camps, Vacation Bible School, Camp Francis, Mercy Camp, Mission Mercy and St. Francis Inn trip.

All summer programs are extremely popular and spaces fill up quickly, so be sure to register early!

    VBS
    offers opportunities for rising Pre-K4 through rising 5th grade children as well as Teen Helper opportunities for children in rising 6th through 9th grade.  During VBS, participants will track through games, Bible stories, music, movies, and snack stations designed to teach relevant and meaningful Bible points as well as immerse them in new adventures.  VBS runs from 9:00am-12:30pm daily.  Lunch is not provided during Vacation Bible School.  If you have program-related questions, please contact Marisa Ferrara at: 919-847-8205, ext. 223 or Marisa.Ferrara@stfrancisraleigh.org

    We enable our community to  renew the spirit within, maintain the physical body, and grow the mind as we enjoy the quality recreational and educational activities within our exceptional facilities and grounds. We welcome with joy all those young people who come to us and invite them into the life of our summer community. We over lots of really cool opportunities in athletics, technologies, arts, and various enrichment areas! Kids can join us for half day or full day.   • Mercy Camp
    June 12-16, 2023 

    A Social Justice Camp for youth in rising 6th through rising 9th grades.  Led, by high school youth (under the direction of adult coordinators), our ever-popular Mercy Camp provides youth with an understanding and appreciation of the Corporal Works of Mercy.  By engaging in small and large group activities, prayer, discussion, community outreach, fun and fellowship, Mercy Campers experience, understand and appreciate fuller participation in the life and work of the Church. Mercy Camp coordinators partner with our own parish ministries as well as other ministries in our community to participate in service projects to benefit others in and around our communityMercy Camp Participants must be in rising 6th through rising 9th grade.

  • Mercy Camp Team Leader
    June 12-16, 2023 

    Rising 10th graders through Rising College Freshmen (Max age: 18) are invited to register to serve as Team Leaders for Mercy Camp.  In addition to their registration in Realm, registrants for Team Leader must accomplish the following: 
     
     
    • Submit a required written application packet INCLUDING all required forms (signed and completed) to (TBD)  within 10 days of Realm registration. Youth registrant must have participated in a prior session of Mercy Camp.

      A registration fee is not required at the time of initial registration.  Registrants will be notified of their status upon review of their application packet (no later than two weeks after the close of registration in Realm).  Registration fee must be paid within 10 days of the date notification is sent in order to confirm registration and ensure placement.  For program-related questions, please contact (TBD)

  • Francis Inn Service Trip
    June 19-23, 2023 

    Open to rising 11th grade through rising college freshmen, St. Francis Inn, a ministry of Holy Name Province is a community composed of religious and lay people called to host a soup kitchen and thrift store for the poor, the alienated, and people experiencing homelessness in inner city Philadelphia.  Participants will be transformed through the Franciscan spirit of service by helping provide basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, and realization of self-dignity to those served at “The Inn.” For program-related questions, please contact (TBD)

  • Mission Mercy
    June 26-30, 2023 

    Mission Mercy is open to youth in rising 10th grade through rising college freshmen.  In following our Franciscan tradition of serving others, registered teens gain experience through their unique opportunity to serve as camp counselors at “Pequenos Gigantes” summer camp.  A ministry of Catholic Charities, Mission Mercy youth will assist in offering a camp experience to children who would not be afforded the opportunity to do so.  Each evening youth participants will gather for meaningful prayer experiences, fun social events and spend time growing in love lived in service.  This week-long experience allows teens to dive deeper into their faith by witnessing and working together side-by-side with those who face daily challenges.
