Director of Liturgy and Sacraments
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC seeks a full-time Director of Liturgy and Sacraments. The director collaborates with a full-time Director of Music and a full-time Director of Faith Formation to effect meaningful worship and sacramental formation in a contemporary context. The Director implements the liturgical vision of the parish steeped in a post-conciliar worldview and directs a large team of volunteers committed to an experience of worship that nourishes members, attracts newcomers, and equips them for mission. An Administrative Assistant and part-time Ministry Coordinator assist the Director.
The successful applicant is a practicing Catholic in good standing, possesses knowledge of the liturgical and sacramental theology of the Church as defined by Sacrosanctum Concilium and post-conciliar documents, enjoys working as a team with other directors, has experience training liturgical ministers, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a minimum of 3 years successfully coordinating parish liturgical life. A degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry, or related field with some coursework in liturgical or sacramental theology is required.

Director of Formation- Full Time, 40 hours (some nights and evenings required)
The Director, in collaboration with the Director of High School and Young Adult Formation, holds the vision for a comprehensive catechetical formation program serving pre-school through adult parishioners. This includes sacramental preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, First Eucharist, and First Reconciliation. The Director supervises the formation team in support of this effort. The Director also oversees the year-round RCIA process for both adults and children of catechetical age in collaboration with staff and a team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises the Formation Team in setting program goals, executing and supporting programming for formation and sacramental preparation.
- Ensures that parish catechetical formation programs are consistent with The Catechism of the Catholic Church, The Directory for Catechesis, diocesan guidelines, and evaluates available formation materials for all programs.
- Responsible for coordinating parish-wide adult formation programs employing current strategies for successful adult education.
- Coordinates the year-round RCIA process and, in conjunction with the Director of Liturgy and Music, its liturgical rites.
- Manages the formation budget and the overall departmental programming in collaboration with the formation team.
- Coordinates and facilitates training and evaluation for volunteers in formation programs.
- Oversees the administrative staff who organize and complete functions such as the maintenance of sacramental records, program registration, communication, program evaluation, and Safe Environment compliance.
Required Education and Experience
- Active, fully initiated, practicing Catholic in good standing
- A Master degree in theology, pastoral studies, religious education, or a related field
- A minimum of five years in a parish or diocesan faith formation position or commensurate position
- A minimum of three years experience in a supervisory position
- Strong knowledge of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and experience in implementing a year-round adult and children of catechetical age initiation process
- Knowledge and experience of effective adult faith formation with a demonstration of best practices

Director of Engagement and Development
We are seeking a Director of Engagement and Development, to oversee, develop, and implement a comprehensive vision of inviting and involving our members in fulfilling their baptismal mission by identifying and sharing their charisms and their material resources in response to the Lord. A degree in theology, pastoral ministry, counseling, church administration or a related field is preferred or relevant experience as well as a minimum of two years of successful fund-raising experience and familiarity with the USCCB’s stewardship ministry vision and documents. Applicants must have a strong relationship with the Lord, excellent interpersonal skills, be a skilled listener, and be comfortable in a variety of settings with diverse groups. Some nights and weekends are required. The director collaborates with the pastoral staff in building the parish’s longstanding history of bringing baptismal and ministerial priesthood together in the collaborative vision of Vatican II.

The Franciscan School
Campus Director of Safety and Security – Full Time (40 hour school year position)
The Campus Safety and Security Director, in collaboration with the Director of Operations, is responsible for guiding and implementing the security philosophy of the schools and managing all aspects involved in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors. This position performs and is responsible for, among other things:
- the design, implementation, and monitoring of safety and security policies, procedures and programs for The Franciscan School and St. Francis Preschool
- ensuring that established goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed priorities, time limitations and fiscal limitations;
- training to school staff and students;
- liaison with first responders;
- coordinating with the Diocese Director of Safety and Security on Diocese-wide initiatives and policies
- exercising independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned.
Essential Functions:
• Write, maintain and update annually, the schools’ Emergency Operations Plan
• Monitor the progress of safety and security program implementation
• Provide guidance and training to school staff and students
• Develop and maintain liaison contact with local first responder agencies
• Conduct emergency drills and tabletop exercises. Maintain records of training and drills
• Administer the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System and ensure reporting is being addressed
• Lead the Schools Safety and Security committee and assist the Threat Assessment Team
• Conduct site assessments
• Develop a reunification plan and train its implementation
• Develop relationships with the student body – become a trusted adult
• Serve as Incident Commander for crisis response events, if delegated by the principal
• Respond to campus threats and emergencies
Minimum Qualifications
• Qualified retired law enforcement officer, as defined in section 926C of Title 18 of the United States Code.
• Currently qualified under LEOSA, as certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, with the ability to qualify each year
• Demonstrated knowledge in security principles and procedures as related to schools
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks with minimal supervision, while maintaining focus on organizational goals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience providing training and instruction
• Ability to maintain discretion at all times, with confidential employee-related or student information and situations
• A calling to invest in the lives of students and an imagination for contributing to a vibrant, connected school community
