Earlier this month our community served 133 guests of Oak City Cares a delicious, warm breakfast. You’d be surprised how much your gifts of food and fellowship mean to them! A volunteer from another organization mentioned that last week they served 180 guests and the sponsoring organization only served a biscuit and a fruit. She mentioned that many were still hungry. She complimented St. Francis on how generous our breakfast was!
Your engagement with the guests gives us all the ability to see each other as humans, each of us walking our own path. We learned of some folks making positive transitions in their lives, others trying hard despite big challenges, and others barely making it. This Sunday, we prayed together and laughed together all as God’s children. You helped to make that happen, and we thank you!
