JaVon has served his entire professional career and personal life in the service of those less fortunate and working to educate the public on key local social justice issues. He has spent his last 6 years serving as a volunteer organizer, community ambassador, and social justice promotor for the poor and homeless population of Washington, DC, working for the non-profit organization, SOME (So Others Might Eat). JaVon now joins St. Francis of Assisi Parish as the Director of Justice and Peace, working closely in relation to our Catholic teachings in order to promote justice efforts and support strong community advocates within our Justice and Peace ministries. JaVon now lives in North Carolina joined by his wife and two daughters. In his free time, JaVon can be usually found enjoying every moment of his family time, or taking meditative time out at a lake with a fishing pole in hand.
