Camps

Ongoing faith formation is a year-round goal! Throughout the summer our parish offers faith-based opportunities for ages Pre-K through rising college freshmen. These programs include our Preschool Camps, Vacation Bible School, Camp Francis, Mercy Camp, Mission Mercy and St. Francis Inn trip.

All summer programs are extremely popular and spaces fill up quickly, so be sure to register early!

    June 24-28 9:00 am-12:30 pm

    VBS offers opportunities for rising Pre-K4 through rising 5th grade children as well as Teen Helper opportunities for children in rising 6th through 9th grade. During VBS, participants will track through bible activities, games, service & crafts, music, scripture and snack stations designed to immerse them in new adventures and walk closer to Jesus.     We enable our community to  renew the spirit within, maintain the physical body, and grow the mind as we enjoy the quality recreational and educational activities within our exceptional facilities and grounds. We welcome with joy all those young people who come to us and invite them into the life of our summer community. We over lots of really cool opportunities in athletics, technologies, arts, and various enrichment areas! Kids can join us for half day or full day. All camps have min and max number of students so camp availability is based on enrollment.

    The mission of The Justice Theater Project is to produce compelling theater experiences that create community dialogue and give voice to social concerns. Join JTP for a two week full day Camp and put on the show Matilda Jr.

  • Mercy Camp
    June 17-21, 2024

    Mercy Camp is a one-week faith-based summer camp for rising 6th – 9th graders.  At Mercy Camp youth travel to service sites throughout the Raleigh area and engage in direct service to those in need.  Back at St. Francis, Mercy Campers reflect on these experiences, engage in small and large group activities, in prayer, discussion, fun and fellowship. Throughout the week Mercy Campers have tons of fun and make lasting friendships while experiencing and growing to appreciate what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ and participation in the life and work of the Church.

  • Mercy Camp Teen Leader
    June 17-21, 2024

    Rising 10th graders through rising College Freshmen are invited to register to serve as Teen Leaders for Mercy Camp.  Teen Leaders will lead and travel with Mercy Campers to service sites throughout the Raleigh area and engage in direct service to those in need.  Back at St. Francis, Teen leaders will lead and reflect on these experiences with Mercy Campers and engage in small and large group activities, prayer, discussion, fun, and fellowship.  Prior to camp, Teen Leaders will participate in leadership training and the creation of many aspects of the camp.  As they experience and grow in understanding of what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ, Teen Leaders will also have several opportunities to witness to their faith during camp.  Spots are limited.  Teen Leaders must apply and be accepted.

  • St. Francis Inn Service Trip
    July 22 – 26, 2024

    St. Francis Inn is a beautiful Franciscan community committed to serving the poor and those experiencing homelessness in downtown Philadelphia. On this service trip, rising 11th and 12th graders, together with adult chaperones, travel to Philadelphia and for 5 days live among the poorest of the poor, those whom Jesus shared so much of his daily life with, while preparing and serving meals each day and sharing in daily Mass and reflections, the beauty of which will take your breath away.  Participants should be prepared to be away from home and for a deeply moving, transformative experience to the margins of society.

  • Mission Mercy
    July 8-12, 2024 

    Following our Franciscan tradition of service and love of others, rising 10th graders through rising College Freshmen, assist in offering “Pequeños Gigantes” a week long, faith-based summer camp for children of The Hispanic Family Center which assists low-income Hispanic families integrate and flourish in the Raleigh area. At Pequeños Gigantes everyone grows in faith, serves others and enjoys themselves immensely. Mission Mercy is unique in that it is a Ministry of Encounter which means St. Francis teens encounter and form relationships with people in need on the margins of society, that is, the children at Pequeños Gigantes.

    After assisting at camp all day, Mission Mercy teens gather each evening for deepening discussion, prayer and fun social events.

    Teen helper opportunities include: lead and assist as grade level counselors, music station leaders, science station leaders, craft station leaders, snack station leaders, and outdoor games station leaders.
