Play and Pray is our faith formation based nursery. We accept children age one and walking, through age 4. The children come to us during either the 9:30 or the 11:30 Mass and spend the time listening to the Gospel for that week, and then rotating amongst different stations that allow them to learn about our Catholic traditions. The hour is full of fun times playing and praying.

Our goal at Play and Pray is to partner with the parents of young children, to provide an opportunity for parents to fully engage in Mass, and for children to begin to hear the stories of Jesus and learn about our Catholic tradition using language and activities that are age appropriate.
In addition to hearing the Gospel for the week, the older children rotate amongst three different genres of stations.
Sacraments – We teach the children about the first 4 sacraments that they will receive: Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation
Prayers – In a 4 week span, the children will learn how to make the Sign of the Cross, the Hail Mary, the Our Father and will hear a story about the life of Jesus.
Holidays and Holy Figures – We use rotating lessons to tell the children about different Holy Men and Women, and about different holidays that are occurring. Some lessons that we have had in the past are: Noah, Jonah, Joshua and Jericho, St. Francis and St. Clare, St. Nicholas, St. Valentine, St. Patrick, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, plus Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and Thanksgiving.
Our one and two year old rooms are staffed by experienced, consistent caregivers. Our three and four year old rooms are staffed by rotating trained volunteers.
