The St. Francis family, which includes The Franciscan School and the St. Francis Preschool, embraces Stewardship as a way TO life. Created in God’s image and likeness, we believe that all that we have, and all that we will ever be is pure gift from God. We recognize that we are accountable to God for the ways in which we use our gifts and blessings of our lives.
Stewardship is so integral to who we are as a community and so to apply for and receive the stewardship tuition rate each year we look at three specific things to determine if your family is actively engaged and supporting our community to the best of your ability:
- Are you registered and do you attend church weekly?
- Do you participate in parish ministry (which we verify with the ministry leaders and the schools)?
- Are you giving regular, identifiable contributions to the parish offertory (we refer to the parish database to see what donations you have given over the past year)?
Note: Cash contributions are not considered identifiable. We understand that sometimes families put money in the basket because they have forgotten their envelopes or didn’t bring a check with them, but we can’t identify loose cash, so this money does not get entered into our database.
It’s definitely not all about the money, but just as any household we have bills to pay and that can’t happen on Time and Talent alone. We appreciate all that people put into our parish and ministries. There is no way we could accomplish the many wonderful things we do without active participation.
Some people opt to use church envelopes for their offertory donations. If you would like to donate this way, please contact Toni Hammes at 919-847-8205 ext. 249 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
A great option is to sign up for Faith Direct so you don’t have to worry about remembering envelopes or checks when you come to church. For those weekends that you may be out of town or just unable to attend, your donation still goes to offertory. If you would like to sign up for recurring contributions through Faith Direct you can do that with this link: https://www.stfrancisraleigh.org/giving/.
If you prefer not to do that, make sure that you are using envelopes or checks going forward or at least put cash donations in a sealed envelope with your family information on it, so that you are credited for all of your contributions. We do verify the offertory contributions each year.
If there is ever something that makes it difficult to give financially, please let us know so that we can offer help. In these cases, we can still consider your family for the stewardship rate. We want to make sure families who want a Catholic education for their children have the opportunity to do so.
Keep in mind that we go through this process each new school year. Please contact me directly if you have any questions.
