HIGH SCHOOL
MISSION: MERCY
Open to Rising 10th Grade
Through Rising College Freshman

Kick-off for camp will be at 5:00pm on Sunday, July 28th

Following our Franciscan tradition of serving others, teens will have the opportunity to take part in daily service projects, have meaningful prayer experiences, and spend time growing in love lived in service. This week-long onsite overnight experience will allow teens to dive deeper in their faith by witnessing and working side by side with those who face daily challenges. Mission: Mercy participants will serve as camp counselors for Hispanic Children during the Pequeños Gigantes summer camp. Participants will be challenged on a daily basis, and through their experiences, will grown in compassion, patience and leadership abilities. Although extremely fulfilling and rewarding, Mission: Mercy is a week-long immersion experience that requires campers to be emotionally and spiritually mature. Campers must be ready for the physical demands of being away from home for the duration of the camp. Please note that camp will begin on Sunday at 5:00pm. 
Maximum number of campers: 15
Cost: Early registration: $160 before 4/10/19, $200 from 4/10/19 thru 5/11/19

ST. FRANCIS INN SERVICE TRIP
Open to Rising 11th Grade
through Rising College Freshmen

June 24-28, 2019

St. Francis Inn, a ministry of Holy Name Province, is a community composed of religious and lay people called to minister with the Franciscan spirit to the poor, homeless, alienated, and forgotten of inner city Philadelphia. Spend a week at the St. Francis Inn ministering with the staff, helping to provide basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and realization of self-dignity to those whom they serve. The Inn ministers through a soup kitchen, thrift store, men’s shelter and women’s day center.  Although extremely fulfilling and rewarding, the St. Francis Inn trip is a week-long immersion experience that requires campers to be emotionally and spiritually mature. Campers must be ready for the physical demands of being away from home for the duration of the camp.

MERCY CAMP
A Social Justice Camp for Middle School
Led by our High School Youth
June 17 – 21, 2019
Registration opens 1/21/19 and closes 2/6/19 at 11:59pm

Our popular Mercy Camp gives our youth an understanding and appreciation of the Corporal Works of Mercy. Our Mercy Camp program has been such a success and many of our campers come back year after year and some go on to become Team Leaders. By engaging in small and large group activities, prayer, discussion, community outreach and lots of fun, our youth are drawn into fuller participation in the life and work of the Church. Youth will partner some of our parish ministries and other community ministries.
Campers: Rising, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th graders (Maximum: 48 campers)
Team Leaders: Rising 10th graders thru Rising College Freshmen (Maximum: 18) *must have participated in Mercy Camp before.
Cost: $180 for campers, $90 for Team Leaders
Camp Times: 8:30am-3:00pm for campers, 8:00am-3:30pm for Team Leaders

Due to parish summer maintenance and staffing constraints,
Mercy Camp will be limited to 1 week this year. 
 

MERCY CAMP REGISTRATION PROCESS
A lottery-based system for campers will be utilized again this year to provide families with an equal opportunity to participate. Due to parish summer maintenance and staffing constraints, Mercy Camp will be limited to 1 week this year. On-line registration (to be considered for the lottery) will be open on Monday, January 21st and will close on Wednesday, February 6th. All registrations received between these dates will be put into a lottery and participants will be notified in early March. Meeting the registration deadline does not guarantee placement in Mercy Camp. If registering more than 1 sibling, all family members (campers only) will be given a spot in camp if the family name is chosen in the lottery.This  process allows both our families and the Formation Team the ability to plan ahead. All registration forms must be submitted by 2/6/19 at 11:59pm to be considered for the lottery. To submit a paper registration packet, please print and complete the on-line form (Ctrl-P).

Team Leaders
will be selected by submitting a Team Leader application packet and should submit applications between 1/21 and 2/6.
Please note: For youth applying to be a Team Leader, two essay questions must be written (by the youth) and submitted with the application packet.

Mercy Camp fills up quickly, so be sure to submit your registration form between 1/21/19 and 2/6/19 at 11:59pm to be considered!
