International Mission Trips

International mission trips have the potential to offer a different perspective on life and faith, elicit a deep sense of compassion and solidarity, and make a difference in the lives of others. See below  for the two parish sponsored opportunities in 2019 to countries in Central America where many continue to struggle to live a life of security, prosperity, and dignity. We stand in solidarity with all of God’s children around the world, especially the poor and marginalized.
We are grateful for our partnerships with Habitat for Humanity and Sister Parish, Inc. who provide meaningful and safe experiences for our parish.

Build a Home in El Salvador with Habitat for Humanity
Dates: May 25 – June 2, 2019
Cost: $1300 + airfare

Led by parishioner John Budway and our own pastor Fr. Steve Patti, we will work on the construction of a home alongside a local family wanting more for themselves. This trip will also offer the opportunity to visit a local school and make a pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Church’s newest saint – St. Oscar Romero.  If you’re interested in joining Fr. Steve Patti and other parishioners on this Habitat build and visit to St. Oscar Romero-related sites please contact John Budway at 305-205-5104,

An information night about this trip will be held
in the Anthony Hall Conference Room
on Sunday, December 16, at 6:30pm, right after the 5:30 Mass.

Spend a Week with our Sister Parish Village in Guatemala
Dates: 10 days in July 2019, dates TBD
Cost: $2000 (includes airfare)

Led by parish staff, parishioners, and our Sister Parish liaison, this journey to Guatemala will offer a powerful experience of solidarity and faith with our brothers and sisters who live in a small, rural, Mayan village in the Ixchan area of Guatemala. Our parish has been exchanging
delegations with this village for over 25 years. Delegates are welcomed
in family homes where they share in daily life with the village. In recent years, we’ve had many parents and teens make this trip and have found this journey to be one of the most important and meaningful experiences they’ve ever had together.  Besides time with our Sister Parish village, the delegates also visit important cultural, historical, religious, and natural sites in Guatemala.  If you are interested in joining us,  please contact Carie Gunnells,
