Ministries of Hospitality

Welcome Hosts

Calling all you Smiling faces! If you have an embracing heart and smile to share, this opportunity is perfect for you! We are looking for people to be “Weekend Welcome Hosts.” Folks who participate in this ministry will extend a genuine welcome to people coming to church each weekend by greeting folks and sharing smiles at the main doors of the church, directing folks around campus, and generally creating a warm atmosphere where all feel welcome and a part of the St. Francis family. This ministry is key to creating a sense of home for every member of our parish, from the moment they arrive until they leave. It’s a great way for families to minister together or to get to know people. Please contact Deb Royals-Mizerk at 919-847-8205x222 or email deb.royals-mizerk@stfrancisraleigh.org to sign up! Training is provided.

Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare Professionals! We need you! If you come to Mass, would you wear a name tag identifying yourself as a healthcare professional willing to help in the event someone needs help? Just drop in for a brief orientation to the medical equipment available, the sign-in process, and that’s it! We’ll gift you with your own Medical Presence name tag! No need to schedule – just wear the tag when you come to Mass. Orientations every Monday at 6:30pm in the Gathering space and every Thursday at 2:00pm. For more information, contact Kathleen Owen at kathleen.owen@stfrancisraleigh.org.

Hospitality Hands

Many Hands Make Light Work

Do you have a free hand or two and an interest in serving our community? We have an opportunity for you and your family. We are extending Our Sunday Experience to allow some community fellowship after Mass. Starting this Advent season, we will be serving coffee and donuts in Clare Fellowship Hall after the morning Masses. This hospitality will be a beautiful time for us to simply be with each other in our community family. Of course, in order to be together, we need a team of people willing to serve the coffee and donuts. If you have a warm heart and a free hand, come be a part of our new Hospitality Hands ministry. Please contact Deb Royals-Mizerk at 919-847-8205x222 or email deb.royals-mizerk@stfrancisraleigh.orgto sign up! Training is provided.

Weekend Receptionists

We are forming a new ministry called Weekend Receptionists. The primary focus will be to assist parishioners with Mass requests and to help register new parishioners on line. We hope to recruit enough volunteers so that each volunteer is available for one or two Masses per month. The time commitment would be 20-30 minutes after Mass. If you enjoy meeting new people, have good basic office/keyboard skills, and could spend 20-30 minutes after Mass once each month, please give me a call or email me. Training is provided. Contact Kathleen Owen at 919-847-8205x241 or kathleen.owen@stfrancisraleigh.org.

Mass Announcements

Have you noticed that general Mass announcements are happening before the beginning of Mass? Members of our senior parish staff are planning and making these Mass announcements in order to introduce themselves to you, and provide opportunities for you to know our pastoral ministries better. Have a question about something or want to know more? Stop by and chat with them after Mass. Our pastoral presence is to be with you when you are present with us.
