Migrant Workers

Migrant Ministry

Our mission is to serve our migrant brothers who labor in the fields and farms of North Carolina from May through October.

Migrant Farm Workers Gently-Used Coat Drive

The cold is coming and many of the migrant farm workers who have been here all summer picking our vegetables are moving on to work on the Christmas Tree farms in western NC through December. They are often not told of this second assignment before they leave home, so they are in great need of cold weather items now: coats, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, blankets, etc. If you can spare any of these gently-used items, it would be wonderful. The men will be so appreciative! Please drop off your donations in the Stewardship Center through Sunday Oct 4th. Thank you SO much!

Transportation Ministry

St. Francis parishioners drive to migrant farmworker camps, pick up workers and drive them to Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary parish in Louisburg, N.C., on Sundays during summer. We also provide and serve a hot dinner to seasonal farm workers and their families once a month in June, July, August and September.
