CPO, a Catholic Charities program, is celebrating 39 years of serving the triangle community by providing emergency food assistance.  Last year CPO gave a week’s worth of groceries to on average 9,600 people a month thanks in large measure to your generosity during past food drives.  But with 25% of NC children under age 5 going to bed hungry every night and over 2,200 children registered in Wake County public schools as homeless, the need is still great.

Please grab a grocery bag, fill it with groceries and bring it back to the CPO truck in our parking lot this weekend and next – 10/16.  Thank you so much!

CPO also distributes new and gently used baby and pre-school age clothing, toys, books, formula and diapers.
We collect these items along with egg cartons and grocery bags for CPO on an on-going basis using bins in Clare Hall.

And introducing Sophia Brzezinski!
Sophia is the newest and youngest ministry leader of our Justice and Peace ministries!  Here she is helping collect groceries at the CPO truck with her parents Jeanne and Peter who have lead this ministry for a number of years.  Recently they stepped aside and turned it over to Sophia, who is a sophomore at Cardinal Gibbons High School.  Sophia could not be more excited to be leading this ministry, nor could we to be working through her.  What an inspiration!  And thank you Jeanne and Pete for your service and for raising such a socially conscious and giving daughter.
