MENUMENU

                                                             Camp Francis

The Camp Francis summer program is meant to support the mission of the Catholic Community of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Community Life ministries within our parish community.  We promise to inspire growth opportunities, offer support, encourage participation, and safeguard the environment as we build our summer family.  We enable our community to renew the spirit within, maintain the physical body, and grow the mind as we enjoy the quality recreational, educational and spiritual activities within our exceptional facilities and grounds. We welcome with joy all those young people who come to us and invite them into the life of our summer community.

With Peace and Love,

Arduino Line Following Robots

Instructor: Techsplorers, LLC (http://www.techsplorers.com/)
Min/Max Enrollment: 8/24
Price: $205

Learn how to program a robot to follow a track all by itself! While the original Line-Following Robot class is strictly about hardware design, the addition of the Arduino microprocessor introduces completely different challenges and allows for all kinds of enhancements from advanced speed controls to turn memory. And with Arduino, unlike the basic drag-and-drop programming taught in other robotics camps, students will learn a real programming language used in industry by real engineers. This class is great for both programming beginners and Arduino enthusiasts and no previous Line-Following Robot experience is necessary.

Note: Laptops will be available to borrow during class, however, Techsplorers encourages students to bring their own laptop from home with the free Arduino software already installed (see www.techsplorers.com/arduino for setup instructions). Robot built during class sold separately.

Min/Max Enrollment: 8/24
Price: $205

Design and build a metal detector from scratch! Wind the search coil using magnet wire, construct a Colpitts oscillator, interface it to the Arduino, and then learn how to code it. The closer the metal object gets to the coil the higher the pitch of the tone emitted from the speaker so you have an idea of how deeply buried the object is! And with Arduino, unlike the basic drag-and-drop programming taught in other robotics camps, students will learn a real programming language used in industry by real engineers. No programming or Arduino experience is necessary.

Note: Techsplorers highly recommends students bring their own laptop for use in class. For laptop setup instructions and requirements, please visit www.techsplorers.com/arduino before arriving on the first day. Students who do not have a suitable laptop to bring will borrow a Techsplorers laptop. Metal detector built during class sold separately.
