We are blessed to have four staff members receive master’s degrees. Celina Manville, the resource teacher for Grades K-4 at The Franciscan School, received her Master’s in Education in December 2019 from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Sarah Bowser, Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation, received her Master’s in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas in December 2019. We were unable to  celebrate their accomplishment due to the onset of COVID-19 in 2020, so we celebrate their achievement and congratulate them this weekend.

On May 16, 2021, Thomas Bulick, Coordinator of Middle School Faith Formation, receives his Master’s in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas and Jennifer Fiduccia, Director of Family Formation, receives her Master’s in Catechetical Ministry from the University of Dallas. We salute them for reaching these milestones and offer our heartfelt congratulations.

Jenn recently received two other accolades worth noting. In March, she was appointed by Bishop Zarama to a five-year term as a member of the Admissions and Scrutinies Committee for the Diocesan Office of  the Diaconate. In April, she received her Master Catechist Certificate from the diocese. She may need a new wall to hang all her certificates and diplomas! We are proud of these recognitions of her intellect,  talents, and skills both for the good of St. Francis of Assisi and beyond.

We launch Module 2 in our series entitled, To Know, To Believe, To Live (KBL), on Monday, May 17. This module focuses on the foundational Christian belief that we are all made in the image and likeness of God. This has profound implications for our identity as Christians because, as the first module explained, if God is perfect love and we are made in God’s image, then we are reflections of that love no matter who we are, what we do, or how the world sees us. If you have not signed up to view this series in a small group, we invite you to view this 21-minute lecture this week by going to our parish website. If you are signed up with a small group, please wait for communication from your facilitator about your meeting time. A handout that captures the major content of the slides is found to the right of the video-lecture. You may print it out to follow the lecture and to view the reflection questions associated with the presentation.
