This Sunday, I will be on my way back to Raleigh from El Salvador, where a group from our parish has been working on a Habitat project over the past week.
In the meantime, we have some good news to report. We friars will be hosting a friar intern this summer. His name is Jason Damon and he is currently in theology studies in Chicago. We are looking forward to his arrival sometime later this week, and we expect that he will be with us until mid-August. Here is a short bio from Jason himself:
My name is Jason Damon and I’m originally from the Buffalo, NY area. I attended college at St. Bonaventure University, where I graduated in 2016 with a BA in History. I entered formation with the friars right after that, attracted to the Franciscans in large part because of the relationships I formed with them as an undergrad. I felt called to the spirituality and was impressed by the sense of fraternity, although I was initially very intimidated by the prospect of entering religious life and so spent the better part of my time at SBU trying to run away from an ever-deepening sense of a vocational call before finally accepting and celebrating it. I just finished my first year of theological studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, where I moved to this past August. I’m looking forward to continuing both my educational and vocational journey with you all (y’all in North Carolinese, right?) this summer, as well as being a part of yours!
