You will notice this weekend that work has begun on a new roof for our church. The original roof dates back to the construction of our church in 1996. Over the past several months, we have been experiencing periodic leaks in the roof, and so it was time for a replacement. The cost of our new roof is just over $110,000, and you may recall that we raised just over $80,000 through our parish-wide appeal in December. This means that we will draw around $30k from our reserve maintenance account to make up the difference in cost. Over the past several years, we have been building up our reserve maintenance fund in order to better maintain our facilities which are beginning to age. Once again, thank you to the many people who made a contribution for our new church roof. We are grateful.
A reminder also on the latest numbers for our 2018 Bishop’s Annual Appeal – we are at just over 75% of our goal of $509,000, and we have about 24% parish participation. If you have already made a contribution, thank you, we are grateful. If not, we ask that you please consider making a donation to the 2018 BAA.
