This Sunday is the Epiphany of the Lord and in the gospel we hear the story of the magi from the East who make the long journey to pay homage to the newborn king who was born poor in a stable. The Epiphany marks the end of the Christmas season. Let me say thank you to everyone who helped make our Christmas celebrations go so well, including the volunteers who helped to decorate the church, set up our magnificent Christmas tree (which was donated), and all who helped serve our multiple Christmas masses.
We have some exciting news to announce for the new year – we will be having a parish pilgrimage to Italy in September 2017. The pilgrimage includes time in Rome, Florence, and Assisi, the home of our patron St. Francis. We will be having an information night on Saturday, January 28 after the 5:30pm mass, in Anthony Hall Founders Room. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow SFA parishioners and to see some of the magnificent sites of three beautiful cities in Italy. Interested? Please see page 9 in this bulletin for more information.
Blessings on your week!
