Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Earlier this week we were all taken by surprise with the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.  Though a surprise to us, it was a thoughtful and prayerful decision of Pope Benedict’s as he sought the guidance of the Lord in his life and that of our church.  Our prayers are with our Holy Father and our church during this time of transition of leadership, with the confidence that the Holy Spirit will lead and guide us.

On Thursday, February 28 at 7:30 pm in the church, we will celebrate a Lenten Mass in Thanksgiving for the ministry of Pope Benedict XVI, as our Shepherd. It will also be a time for us to pray to the Holy Spirit, for wisdom and guidance during this time of transition in our church.

Please come join in prayer together on February 28, the final day of Pope Benedict’s papacy.

In the peace of Christ,

Fr. Mark
