Today we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. It is a wonderful way to recall our own baptism and its invitation to be a disciple of Jesus. As part of a collaborative efforts between the Jesuits of St. Raphael’s and the Franciscans of St. Francis this Saturday (January 19) at St. Raphael’s in the Lewis Room at 9:30 am (following the 9:00 am mass) Fr. Matthew Monnig S.J. will speak on Opening the Treasures of the Bible: Vatican II and the Word of God. Fr. Matt is a Jesuit priest currently working on a Ph.D. in New Testament at Duke University. Originally from Jefferson City, Missouri, he is a member of the New England province of Jesuits.
