Dear Brothers and Sisters,
New Year’s Greetings of Peace.
Many thanks, to all who labored to enrich our Advent and Christmas liturgies as we celebrated the Nativity of our Lord. The simple beauty of the church was stunning, the music uplifting, and the generosity of so many ministers welcoming. Special thanks to Theresa Baumgartner and Margaret Monteleone and their crew for the splendor of our worship spaces. We are once again indebted to Tim Moser of Shepherd’s Way (at the Citgo gas station at Leesville & Farless) for choosing and donating a wonderful fresh cut tree to fit wonderfully in our sanctuary.
Sincere thanks to all who made an end of year gift to St. Francis. Your generosity is greatly appreciated as we respond to current capital needs.
Building Maintenance. According to our parish maintenance schedule, the church to include Anthony Hall and Clare Hall is due to be painted (wood repair, power washing, caulking and painting). In addition, La Verna Center (log house) also needs to be treated, sealed and the wood restored. Expected cost is $75,000.
Sound System. As many of you have reported, the sound system in the church is marginal and needs to be replaced. Although we have begun our preliminary needs assessment and technology review, it remains unfunded in our current budget. It is expected that a new system will cost upwards of $100,000.
You are generous stewards of our parish. Thank you! If you can see your way to making an additional end-of-year gift to the parish, would you consider it? On the memo line of your check please note “year-end gift”.
Wishing good health to you and your loved ones in the New Year.
In the peace of Christ,
