About Our Community

The St. Francis Young Adult Community includes men and women in their 20s and 30s who come together to share with each other, grow in their faith, find fellowship, and serve others. We build community by organizing a variety of social, spiritual and service events throughout the year.  Whether single, married, discerning, widowed, divorced, with or without children – everyone can find a home in our community!

Weekly Bible Study

YAC Bible Study

St. Francis young adults, have you ever been to a Catholic Bible Study? They do exist! Come find out what they are all about on Wednesday night starting at 7:00 PM in room 403 of Anthony Hall. We are going to read each week’s readings, and talk about what they mean to us.

Charis Retreats – Connect, Encounter, Grow

Life is busy, hectic, frenetic.  It can be challenging for those in their 20s and 30s as they negotiate the many transitions, challenges and obstacles life presents.  We believe that taking time off and time away is a welcome and necessary break in their lives. Charis retreat experiences provide the practical tools of Ignatian spirituality in a community of peers, helping them to see God’s presence and work in their lives. Our retreat experiences help form connections and community that can sustain that exploration and deepening of faith for years to come.

Service Opportunities

When:        May 15- May 19, 2017

Where:       St. Francis Inn Ministires, Philadelphia, PA

Join our Young Adults Ministry for a weeklong service opportunity with the Franciscans at St. Francis Inn. The Inn has been serving guests for over 35 years, providing hope to those on the margins through good food and a welcoming spirit. Our trip leaves early in the morning for the drive up to Philadelphia, and we jump right into helping with preparations for the evening meal. Throughout the week, we’ll get to serve homeless and low-income individuals and families through meal service and preparation.

We have room in the van for up to 6 participants to travel up to Philadelphia, leaving early on Monday morning and returns late Friday evening.

Join us for our information meeting on Sunday, April 23rd, at 4:00 PM in room 405 of Anthony Hall at St. Francis! We’ll talk more about what happens on this service trip, and how we can help you discern if this is what God is calling you to do. If you are interested in joining us, email me at jason.lillis@stfrancisraleigh.org, or give me a call at 919-847-8205 x244!
