We, who are many, are one body in Christ,
and, individually, we are members one of another.
St. Francis of Assisi is a gospel faith community baptized into the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In all that we do we will invite parishioners into the life of our community to live their baptismal call.
This will be achieved by:
Helping parishioners, and those who come to us, understand what it means to be baptized into the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
Fostering a sense of community among individuals, families and all who come to St. Francis of Assisi, to develop a stronger sense of belonging among parishioners throughout the moments of their lives and stages of their faith
Providing parishioners opportunities for conversion within all aspects of our church, to enable deeper relationship with Jesus Christ
This initiative is more focused on how the church connects with individuals and families to invite them to grow spiritually and provide ample opportunities to connect parishioners both with other parishioners and their faith at these “life stages.” Then they will have the tools needed to be able to take the next step toward stewardship and give back their talents/gift to our church once they have invested interest in our mission.
Some of the themes that the PC discussed around this initiative were:
Better engage parishioners not fully involved
Leveraging and growing our Small Church Communities
Involve all ministries and staff activities to include a specific engagement goal
Enhance our follow up at key “touch points” (eg. Sacrament preparation)
Provide simple-to-use vehicles and tools to facilitate a broader engagement
“We are one family living in community confronted, challenged and comforted by the word of God, reaching out to all persons and their families.”
