The Freshman Retreat, open to all parish rising High School freshmen, is a spiritual and social day retreat, which offers participants an opportunity to have fun and build community while renewing themselves in mind, body and spirit. The retreat consists of canoeing, a fun service project, a mixture of small and large group discussions, presentation, music, prayers, activities. The retreat concludes with the celebration of the Eucharist on Saturday night in Umstead Park. There will be an ample amount of time to enjoy the company of old friends, as well as meet new ones.  The retreat will provide an excellent opportunity to form community with youth from your high school as well as the parish community.  Be sure to invite any new friends from St. Francis that you may have met over the summer!

Moved by the Spirit: Listening to God about Life’s Decisions
St. Francis Springs Prayer Center

November 17-19, 2017

Decisions, decisions, decisions… our lives are full of them. From the small — reaching out to a friend, planning to go to an event — to the large — our careers, our life partners, our involvement in the community — our choices can draw us closer to God. Still, in the midst of the noise of a busy life, how can we know where the Holy Spirit is calling us? Join other young adults in learning about tools that can help prayer be a two-way conversation with God. Pause and hear where God may be calling you to go. Reflect on how you are being invited to use your gifts. Go deeper in your relationship with God to see how the Holy Spirit moves in your life so you can live into your decisions.

Founded in 2000, Charis Ministries reaches adults in their 20s and 30s throughout the country, nurturing their faith through retreats based in Ignatian spirituality. St. Francis of Assisi is a member of the Charis Partner Program.
