For Children in Grades K through 5
Cross Walk is a small group-based faith formation program for our elementary-aged children, centered on the Mass, offering food and fellowship, in a fun, safe environment, with offerings to fit your family’s busy schedule!
Our Sunday Cross Walk sessions will meet twice a month. At each session, your child will begin by sharing a light snack in his or her small group of 10 children in the same grade. While in their small group, the adult volunteer leaders will introduce the theme for the week, work hard to build trusting relationships within the group with games and hands-on activities, and facilitate discussion on catholic teachings. Next, through a dynamic presentation, lively music and entertaining skits, your child will be presented with the Gospel to not only review the days teachings, but to learn how to put our faith into action. Finally, as the large group, we will end with prayer, a presentation of their mission for the week, and dismissal to families for Mass.
Additionally, the Formation Team will offer monthly Family Events and other special events that will help build upon the teachings presented each week and foster opportunities in which the families can grow in faith together. These gatherings will help to make our children feel “at home” at St. Francis, a place where they can have fun and be themselves, while knowing that they are valued and loved!
Because Mass is the source and summit of our faith, Cross Walk is scheduled around Mass times to prepare the children to be open to the message proclaimed there. Two convenient program time options for grades K through 5 are available each Sunday. When you register, you simply choose the time that works best for your family! Because there is limited gathering space, time slots will be filled first-come, first-served basis.
Families MUST be registered parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi to participate in Faith Formation. Click here to register at St. Francis.
