Our mission is simple: to provide food and clothing to those in need in the Triangle area.
Catholic Parish Outreach (CPO) is the largest food pantry in the Triangle area. Clients (individuals or families in need who receive written referral from an agency such as the Department of Social Services) can receive approximately one week’s worth of groceries for their family, clothing (children up to size 6 and maternity), and baby items. Clients can return every thirty days. Following a brief interview, the client receives the needed groceries and/or clothing.
How can you get involved?
- Volunteer at CPO for four hours (from 9:30 am–1:30 pm Monday-Saturday).
Volunteer opportunities range from:
- working in the warehouse
- food sorting and packing “orders”
- clothing sorting and distribution
- greeting/interviewing clients
- Come once a month, once a week, or more often if your schedule permits.
- Donate food or clothing (children up to size 6 and maternity) or baby items. CPO does not accept car seats.
- Contribute financially. As a program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh, which is a 501c3 organization, your contributions to CPO are tax deductible.
Upcoming Activities and Events: The spring food drive at St. Francis of Assisi will be held the weekends of February 13/14, 20/21 and 27/28. Volunteers will be needed at each weekend Mass to hand out the grocery bags or collect the filled bags at the truck in the parking lot.
