Last week I received a note from Catholic Parish Outreach which reads this way: “Dear Fr. Steve, on behalf of the people we serve at Catholic Parish Outreach, we want to thank you and your parish for the generous donations during the St. Francis ‘Feed a Family’ food drive. The response from your parish was amazing, with a donation of 9,982 pounds of groceries and $6,656 for families in need! In January we gave a week’s worth of groceries to over 9,200 people!

Our outreach ministry to the needy would not be possible without the assistance of the members of our community and parishes. We are blessed by your devotion to helping the poor in our midst.” The director added a personal  note to “please relay our appreciation to the generous people of St. Francis.”

Thanks to all who helped – a real sign of the important presence of St. Francis in our community. And a reminder as well of our parish’s link to the 2017 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. We do not stand alone in our diocese, but are part of the greater whole. If you have not already contributed to the 2017 BAA, we ask that you please consider making a donation.

Blessings on your week!
