Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you to all who turned in a pledge card for Our Cathedral: One Faith, One People Campaign last week.  If you haven’t yet, please do so in the coming week.  If you misplaced your pledge card, they are available in the Welcome Center.

It’s hard to believe that Lent is almost over and Holy Week just around the corner.  I’ve been very encouraged by the many comments I’ve received from those participating in small Christian communities.   Many thanks to Gladys Whitehouse and her committee for all their fruitful labor in creating and implementing all that has gone into making this successful.  I encourage you to join in the celebration of the Triduum next week (Holy Thursday April 5, Good Friday April 6 and the Easter Vigil April 7).  This celebration of the paschal mystery of Christ is a wonderful expression of our faith as Roman Catholics.  Give yourself the extra gift of prayer.

As part of our tithe to peace and justice, we regularly support the good work of ministries in our local community and beyond. I would like to share with you the appreciation of those who benefit from our generosity and the good work that you are helping to support.

On behalf of the people we serve at Catholic Parish Outreach, we want to thank you and your parish for the generous donations during the St. Francis “Feed a Family” food drive.  The response from your parish was overwhelming with a donation of 7,200 pounds of groceries for families in need! In January we gave a week’s worth of groceries to 10,523 people.  Our outreach ministry to the needy would not be possible without the assistance of the members of our community and parishes.  We are blessed by your devotion to helping the poor in our midst.
Terry Foley, Catholic Parish Outreach and Rick Miller-Haraway, Director, Catholic Charities Raleigh Regional Office

You are helping to make a positive impact in the lives of homeless and low-income families right here in Raleigh.  On behalf of Passage Home thank you for your ongoing generous support. We are so incredibly thankful for your dedication and passion to help children and their families in our community.
Jeanne Tedrow, CEO of Passage Home

The gracious gift from St. Francis makes it possible for us to continue supporting the disabled through retreats and special events.  Thank you for your generosity for the Handicapped Encounter Christ community in the Raleigh Diocese.
Brent Heiser, Executive Director of Handicapped Encounter Christ

Thank you for your generous donation.  With your help we are truly making a difference  all across the Triangle.  The coming year will bring more challenges, more programs, and more excitement.  We want to continue to spread our message – that hunger is              unacceptable.
Jill Staton Bullard, Executive Director Interfaith Food Shuttle

Thank you for your generous gift, it makes it possible for Franciscan Mission Service to continue to send highly-prepared, qualified missioners overseas to live alongside poor communities. Please pray for all our new missioners’ continued personal and spiritual development as they become accustomed to a new culture.
Mariam Mitry, Associate Director Franciscan Mission Service

Thank you for your most generous donation to St. Francis Inn.  Your gift helps us in continuing this ministry to the poor.  May God bless all of you most abundantly.
Fr. Michael Duffy O.F.M., St. Francis Inn

Thank you dear parishioners for your stewardship of time, talent, and treasure to our Catholic Community that makes these donations possible on behalf of St. Francis of Assisi.

In the peace of Christ,

Fr. Mark
