Sister Parish Delegation from Las Margaritas Dos are here for Holy Week

Our Sister Parish ministry broadens our perspective on the Body of Christ through the ongoing relationship between Las Margaritas II and our parish. Sharing our home and our lives with our Mayan brothers and sisters deepens our mutual understanding of what it means to be Christ in the larger world. The delegates from Guatemala go through a formal process in their village in order to be chosen to travel north, and we are so happy to have them join us here at Saint Francis of Assisi during Holy Week.

An exciting and busy week has been planned for our visiting guests with tours of Lyon’s Farm in Creedmoor, Natural Science Museum, Supermarket Tour, Farmers Market and a trip to the Zoo, plus an opportunity to try their hand at bowling.  Our visiting guests will also spend time at the Franciscan School visiting the classrooms and playing soccer with the middle school children, and they will join with us in the feet washing ritual before our Holy Thursday Mass.

On Sunday from 2pm until after dark our guests will enjoy a wonderful fun filled day with an  Easter Egg hunt, a picnic, fishing, horseshoes, a tire swing, Frisbees, marshmallow roasting and fireworks at the home of Meg and Dave Smith.  Everyone is welcome.  Please RSVP to megsmithmail@yahoo.com and bring a dish to share.
